Coining Appoints VP for Global Operations of Wire and Tape & Reel

VP Global Operations
Paul Nikac, Vice President, Global Operations, Wire and Tape & Reel

January 21, 2011

Coining, Inc. announced today that company veteran Paul Nikac has become Vice President, Global Operations, Wire and Tape & Reel effective immediately. In this new position, Mr. Nikac assumes responsibility for the company's bonding wire manufacturing activities located in Montvale, NJ, USA; Penang, Malaysia; and Casablanca, Morocco. In addition, Coining's tape & reel packaging operations in Montvale and Penang will report to Mr. Nikac.

"Paul is charged with running our bonding wire and tape-and-reel packaging activities as focused operating units despite they are being located on three different continents," explains Ken Whited, Coining's President to whom Paul reports. "Our Montvale, Penang and Casablanca locations are linked together via supply chain as well as dependent upon the same set of technical resources. Paul is at the center of our decision-making process coordinating and directing these three wire and two tape & reel manufacturing units.

"I am excited about this new assignment and look forward to continuing the improvements we have already made in our bonding wire and tape & reel packaging operations," remarks Mr. Nikac. "Our business is growing quickly, particularly in aluminum bonding wire and ribbon as well as copper bonding wire, so we are challenged frequently. Our teams in Montvale, Penang and Casablanca are up to the task and eager to get better every day."

Paul Nikac joined SPM in 1995 and rapidly progressed into management through a series of sales and operations roles with increasing responsibility including quoting department manager, regional sales manager, director of sales and executive vice president. After Coining acquired SPM in early 2009, he served as Vice President, Operations with responsibility for SPM's Armonk, NY facility until this operation was combined with Coining's Saddle Brook, NJ plant and relocated to the company's current facility in Montvale.

Coining, Inc. is the largest manufacturer of gold tin, pure gold and other solder preforms and brazing preforms worldwide and a leading producer of gold, copper and silver bonding wire, aluminum bonding wire and ribbon, solder wire, jumper chips, bonding pads, tabs, heat sinks, lead frames, solder spheres and cover assemblies for microelectronics packaging and assembly. The company manufactures products at its facilities in Montvale, New Jersey, USA; Penang, Malaysia; and Casablanca, Morocco, supplying more than 1,000 customers in over thirty countries.
